I hope my comments weren't misunderstood.
I have not had the privilege of being a part of other shaving forums but I have noted many comments since I've been a member here about how gracious the members of this forum are towards one another and that apparently isn't the case on other shaving forums.
As Rob (@
Red Rider) already noted, his post was simply a bit of a rant and a mentioning of preference and his intention
was not to be critical.
I was simply applauding Chris' (@
Bama Samurai) most eloquent and more gracious way of putting it and noting my own particular failure in the same area to heed my wife's constant comment; "It's not what you say, it's how you say it". Apparently I have the habit of speaking first (and thinking last) and sometimes offending without intent. It was obvious that some folks might have felt unwelcome if they don't have the time, the equipment or the skills to add photographs to their postings and
I don't believe that Rob meant to imply that in any way.
My comment about grammar is in reference to my apparent delusion that I've been giving the duty of pointing out spelling and grammar mistakes as some sort of service to humanity and I constantly need to be reminded that I'm not the spelling police. I need to appreciate everyone's participation at whatever level and not think less of their contribution simply because I think they should have given more attention to detail.
Thankfully though, one of the lessons I continually learn on this forum is how to be gracious and generous towards others.
On another note, Troy's (@
Troy M) comment about shutter noises coming from the bathroom cracked me up.
