SOTD January 30, 2016 Prep: Hot Shower. Noxzema Razor: Gillette Super Speed Flare Tip TV Special 1958 D3 Blade: Personna Lab Blue Lather: Mitchell's Wool Fat Brush: Maggard 24mm Synthetic Marble Handle Post: Thayers Cucumber WH. Gold Bond Ultimate Aftershave: Fine L'Orange Noir. Route 66 Retro Spice Fantastic shave. First time using the TV Special and I'm very impressed with the shave, IMO all SS Flare Tips don't shave alike, I found the TV Special to be a little more efficient than my other SS. Never let the things you WANT Make you forget the things you HAVE!
Love the pic. I'll have to try Feathers in my '58 Exec. Did you have to use a lower setting with the Feathers? I normally use the Exec on 6-7.

30jan15 Another 3 days growth, knocked down with ease. I used my Black Beauty set on 9 this time to see how it compared to the Fatboy on 9. Both did great but I believe the FB is just a bit smoother on my face. For the second pass, I set it back to 3 and was happy with a two passes DFS shave.
Saturday Prep: Warm Shower-Stirling Bath Soap-Scots Pine Sheep Soap: The Savoy Razor: Maggard V2 Open Comb Blade: Gillette Platinum (1) Brush: Thater Silvertip-26mmx55mm Aftershave: Burberry Brit WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard) The Savoy today. 20 seconds to load the Thater Silvertip. Hello TSD - my saturday shave: - Meißner Tremonia Woody Almond - Grosvenor "Finest" - Mühle R41/iKon Bulldog - Gillette Silver Blue - Speick Men ASL This Meißner soap smells different from the Italian almond soaps like Cella, Valobra and the likes. More bitter than sweet almond, with a background note of campfire. Very pleasant actually. And all the Meißner soaps and creams I know are very good performers. Slickness, cushioning and skincare are on a pretty high level. The Mühle head balances nicely with the Bulldog handle. And the GSB and the R41 seem to get along pretty well. Two passes WTG and A/XTG, the WTG one was very gentle, ATG just a bit more rough (it was only my 4th shave with the R41, guess I still have to figure out the optimal angle). Some touchups under the chin and at the jawline - BBS shave. No nicks, almost no irritation, just a slight burning sensation from the Aftershave. Very nice Have a great saturday y'all.
1/30/2016 AlumiGoose with Hempel Ti Feather Pro (7) RV with Shavemac Finest Chiseled Face Trade Winds Witch Hazel F&C Capri Whipped Shea Butter A fantastic 2 pass shave this morning. I easily matched my normal work morning shave. But with the extra time and a few touch ups, I ended up with a BBS. Finished up with a splash of F&C Capri. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.
Today I used my Gem Junior loaded with a Personna Gem blade. I am really liking the Gem. I went with the VDH luxury soap and the new Maggards synthetic brush with the faux marble handle. I finished it off with a knock-off old spice after shave. It was my first time using the Maggards brush and I was impressed. It's soft, but it has plenty of backbone. The brush loads up nicely with soap. It's my new favorite!
