    Steve-

I've used eSnipe for years and find it quite satisfactory. I certainly lose part of the auctions, but I've had enough wins as a result of it, that I'll continue to use it.

It certainly takes a lot of anxiety out of the last moment bidding.
    JMHO.

I was active on Yahoo Auctions for some years but of course it's gone now and it never was as successful as eBay. Yahoo prevented sniping by simply extending the auction ending time 30 minutes after the last bid. I think that worked much better for both sellers and buyers. It was more a real auction with the item going to the highest bidder.

    :rofl Way too funny!!

@ all: I basically do what most everyone else does in that I assess the price (including shipping) that I'm willing to spend, make that my max bid and walk away. I just get frustrated sometimes. On the other hand, I just finished my hone collection yesterday by winning a Franz Swaty hone.

Sometimes ya wins, sometimes ya loses.

Anyway, thanks all for letting me vent.

That's what we're here for! We all feel the same way at times.
    Congrats on the Swaty!

Thanks, I'm anxiously waiting for its arrival. I hope it's as good as the picture made it look. It doesn't come with the original instructions but those are readily available other places.

  7. I don't see what the problem is. There's nothing unfair about it at all. The item goes to the person who bid the most, plain and simple. Even a snipe has a mximum amount that the buyer is willing to pay. If you want the item, you'll have to cough up mre, and you have ample opportunity to do so.

I agree. I've used e-snipe with good results as well.

Things going to the highest bidder isn't unfair or a problem. However sniping software designed to place a bid at the very last seconds such that, if a person did want to cough up more, there is not ample opportunity to rebid, is not so fair in my view. However, it is the reality on auction sites so I guess I have no business whining about it.

You vent all you want, Steve! :happy088

Personally, I love a good real life auction! No snipers there.

    Hopefully.:scared003

  11. Wow,

I guess this is an old topic!! But here:

There are still good ebay bargains, the only problem is finding them... Just make sure you look at exactly what you need.

I have done some purchases and really, I had some ebayers winning my items for about 1 to 2 seconds. I wonder the same if there was like a bot making bids, but actually is just the speed connection and the allowance that ebay gives you a chance to put a maximum bid. I have done a lot of ebay purchases and a lot of ebay sales. Most of my salse end up costing the ebuyer .01 cent plus the shipping.. That is the only way to get ebay for not getting you any fees. But still, they get to expensive.

Lets hope something else comes better and easier to sell. :).

Good Luck, Next time put your maximum bet!... That way you will win no matter what! :). I did it on 4 auctions and I won... :).
