February 1 Today was day 3 with the Grand Shave King Self Lubricating Razor. I got a great lather by face lathering the Ghost Town Barber with a L'Occitane Plisson Synthetic. As @Bobcat just stated, the Ghost Town Barber makes great slcik lubricating lather with very little loading time. The scent is a mild outdoorsy scent and is quite enjoyable. The shave was good. but the razor is just a little mild. I need to do major buffing to clean up around the jaw line and the chin area. The DOC is just better overall with this aspect of the shave. Tomorrow will be day 3 with the DOC and the Fat will be the choice of soap.

What can I say.... BBS`s all over the place with the G4! Razor: G4(of course) Blade: Ted Pella(3) Oil : Secret Shave Soap: Williams Mug: VDH AS: Gillette gel Brush* A straight forward 1st pass WTG, 2nd pass ATG/XTG. Clean-up with light lather...... voila! BBS. As for the brush, I picked it up yesterday at an antique store for 10 bucks. It feels so much different that the VDH. I like the "feel" better. If someone out there can enlighten me about the brush (just by looking may not be fair ) But anything might help. Thank you in advance. Bill
C.O.Bigelow Cream Omega #248 Boar Gillette '47 & '54 SS Voskhud blade AquaVelva Ice Blue Menthol Mondays! I was skeptical, but after doubling up on the cooling effect I like it! Today I evaluated two vintage Gillettes in a side by side shave. I used @billdog2 's method of shaving one side then the other with a new Voskhud blade courtesy of @BigCabDaddy, I found the '47 gave a closer shave with less irritation. The '47 is thought to be milder than later versions. Possible control factors being my left hand (dominate) wielding the older razor using a new to me blade. Tomorrow I'll switch up and use the '54 in my dominate hand, but like today, switch the blade to the other razor. ( Thanks to @Red Rider for inspiring the comparison experiment)
Menthol Monday: Day 18 of my second round of blade testing Prep: Hot Shower, Nivea Moisturizing Face Wash Brush: Simpsons 56 Best Badger Lather: Stirling Glacial Obsidian soap Razor: 1st Quarter 1971 Black Handle SS Blade: Croma Diamant (3) Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (7, 8, 9) Post: Cold water rinse, Bloc Osma alum, Thayer's Witch Hazel pad, Aqua Velva Ice Blue aftershave splash Cologne: - Back in the saddle again, after yesterday's mishap threw me a bit. I must admit, in my mildest razor, the Croma performed very nicely. This was no doubt helped by getting good lather from the Stirling, which was in turn helped by using my Simpsons 56; I find it to be my 'lather monster' brush without compare. No nicks, no weepers, no irritation, and DFS+ results make me pleased with the day's shave, even if the nozzle on the AV almost always wants to pour more aftershave into my palm than I want to use. If I don't restock the AV Ice Blue, that's the reason.
I'm intrigued, Sir. "Sample B" implies a new, unreleased, Beta Test! Can you share information? Are you under a Nondisclosure agreement?
