    Day 1, Schick Repeater focus
    [IMG]

Decided to start off the month with the Type A loaded with a Chick blade and man was it a great choice. The Chick blade makes any Schick razor a joy to use. Two smooth WTG passes for an extremely pleasant DFS. Had I went back and touched up my lower neck, it would have been a perfect BBS. The shape of the head of the type A makes it rather easy to find the right angle. its going to be a treat using Floïd Blue each day as its scent and performance are top notch.

Nice! I used Proraso White a good bit last month. I like it. I used Green today for Menthol Monday.

I've been wanting to ice my witch hazel and posted a thread about it on Preshave and Aftershave. I haven't determined how many drops would work. Would one or two drops in a handful of witch hazel be too much?

It's clean, but mineral content varies widely. I am on the Henderson water supply, some of the hardest water in America. Some soaps don't dig it.

February 2016 Focus -- Schick injectors

    February 1

    Razor: Schick Injector G Type
    Blade: Chinese Schick Injector (1)
    Brush: Stirling Kong
    Soap: Stirling MITA
Post: Cold water rinse, Witch Hazel M-bombed, Ice Blue Aqua Velva (M-bombed for added cold)
    20160201_010352-picsay.jpg

First shave of the focus with the G type Schick Injector. I used this razor for about a week (I think it was 5 shaves) back in September when I first got it and took a slight detour from my focus at the time. My main recollection from my time using it was that I needed to force myself not to use pressure because of how light this razor is compared to a DE. Well it is REALLY light compared to the Executive. I am so used to the weight of the Executive basically doing all the work for me.

Began my usual pass and had a little trouble finding the sweet spot of the angle. May have also been fighting the need to put pressure on the razor to compensate for its weight instead of just allowing it to do what it was designed to do. Got a little irritation on the first pass but I think by the time I had finished I had the angle pretty well figured out. Second pass went really smoothly, no irritation at all and the feedback from the razor was much better than during the first pass. I was able to replicate the angle for the entirety of the second pass, and reminded myself of the no pressure rule a few times. A little touch up in the usual places. I ended the day with a DFS shave and minor irritation that really only lit up on my chin and around the Adam's apple, my two main trouble spots. Went a little menthol crazy but it felt amazing. Especially considering it is February and going up to 75 today.

Tomorrow's focus is on keeping no pressure and starting out the shave with the right angle and keeping it throughout.

:happy097::happy102: Pun totally intended I am certain! Poor Adam, another painful reminder not to scratch after using mentholated products.

I added menthol crystals to my Glacial Wintergreen Witch Hazel and my Sharp Dressed Man Aftershave to make it colder then Cryogen....I have no regrets :)

I always drop the angle pretty low, and feel that the Schick G just annihilates beards. Super close and comfortable once you get the technique. Maybe our resident injector expert @Billyfergie has a few thoughts?

I keep a 4 oz bottle of WH that I have M-bombed and added EO to for use on Mondays, and any other day that demands menthol. I filled it about 2oz full of Thayers alcohol free witch hazel with aloe. I think I started at like 15-20 drops of M-bomb (probably should have just bought crystals but I already had the M-bomb. I tried it and adjusted up over the next few days. I honestly don't remember how much I ended up adding in the end.

When I put it in my hand and add the M-bomb I usually add 2 drops and enjoy it without it being too cold for me.

I went 3-4 drops in a whole bottle of Thayer's! Lol Then again, I just wanted "a hint" of menthol to let me know I was actually applying something.

I think the irritation from the first pass really was angle. I started by keeping it flush to the face and then dropping the handle but I realized I was dropping too far most times and so when I corrected and did not drop the handle much at all, I could really tell the difference in the feedback and the smoothness of the shave.

You are absolutely right though, it just annihilates the beard without any problem. The second pass was a much better pass today and I would compare it to the Bolzano blade in the DE. Very smooth and very close. Right now I am almost 10 hours after the shave and have very little growth back which is just great for me. I think when I get all the pieces together of right angle and no pressure from the start, BBS should be found and it will be a great long lasting shave.

Tell me about it. My wife has been responsible for some of it up here nearly the whole time we've been together. That is approaching 40 years my friend. ;)
