Hello, today's SOTD as follows; 1911 Gillette Single Ring. Vintage Gillette Red & Black Thin Blade. Chinese Badger Hair brush. Old Spice shaving cream. Nivea post shave balm. Old Spice as splash. Bulgari Extreme cologne. Tonight I decided to use my 1911 Single Ring along with some Old Spice shaving cream, and after shave splash. It was a pleasant change of pace for me. I don't use it too often. Harrrr Matey!!! Have a great day!
I used Old Spice Shaving Cream a lot in college-perhaps not respecting the fact that OS is more known for aftershaves.
2/3/16 - Planned Shave I grabbed up the vintage Seaforth cologne and gave it a sniff. It called me to use it tomorrow so I will. Lather: TSD Coconut Brush: TGN finest Made Rite handle Razor: Blackland Blackbird Blade: Persona Lab Blue Post: cool rinse and Seaforth Spiced
Wednesday's GFT Pre Shave Oil Proraso Green Shaving Soap Jayaruh #36 Horse Gillette Rocket Aristocrat Jr. Astra SP CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Cucumber WH Dove Men+ Post Shave The Proraso Green Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #36 horse hair brush. Two passes with my English Rocket razor and an Astra SP blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and then Dove Men+ Post Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... Here is what the bottom of a Proraso tub looks like. I had an empty deodorant container, so I decided to transfer the remainder of my Proraso and make a Proraso stick. I am attempting to finish off my Proraso. I have never done that before. The only soaps I have ever completed are the Van Der Hagen Delux SS.
I really like it. My wife gave it to me in 2014 for my birthday. Heavy milk glass and just the right size for soaking most brushes.
SOTD February 3, 2016 Prep: Warm shower Blade: Rapira platinum lux (3) Razor: Maggard MR1 Brush: Omega 10049 boar Lather: Soap Commander Vision Post: Witch hazel splash, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, touch-up Nice shave again with the Soap Commander Vision and the enormous Omega boar brush. I'm enjoying the Maggard MR1 razor as well. As part of a month's focus I will be shaving with the closed comb version for two weeks and then switch to the open comb for comparison. CCS results with the one pass plus touch-up approach. Soap Commander says their samples are good for about 5-7 shaves. This is my fourth shave with the Vision sample, and a practiced a lather one day, so I've taken five shaves worth of suds away. It's still going strong! I will surely get more than two more shaves out of it. It's good stuff! Hope you all enjoy your Wednesday!
