Thanks guys! This week has been very good for shaves for me. It's been a long time since I have used the same soap for consecutive days. There r a group of us using MW soaps and USB for our shaves for the first week of February as a tip of the hat for Celestino being such a good dude and asset to the shaving community. I must say my shaves this week have been great. MW is a killer soap and for those that haven't tried this Floid please do. It's a spectacular scent. Priced well and all around one of my favs. I have also used the same scent soap due to the fact that every day I like it more. Again thanks guys for the kind words.
I almost thought the bottom of the bowl was a myth. I don't use MWF every day, but I have quite a few shaves with it, and I can barely tell it's been used.
Friday's GFT Pre Shave Oil Proraso Green Shaving Soap Jayaruh #36 Horse Gillette Rocket Aristocrat Jr. Astra SP CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Cucumber WH Dove Men+ Post Shave The Proraso Green Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #36 horse hair brush. Two passes with my English Rocket razor and an Astra SP blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and then Dove Men+ Post Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
February 4 Weber Polished Head DE Feather (1) Edwin Jagger XL Synthetic Arko Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Fine L'Orange Noir I enjoyed another wonderful 4:30 a.m. two-pass shave with the Weber PH and a new Feather blade. The Arko always provides me with a slick and protective lather. The scent is marginal, however, so I won't replace it when my current stock is gone. I went ATG on the first pass, followed by XTG on the second pass for near-BBS results. Last month's focus using the Super Speed helped me discover the ATG/XTG two-pass shave. The Weber shaves a bit closer than the Super Speed, and I have to concentrate more on using no pressure. I finished with the Fine L'Orange Noir and made it to work before the chickens woke up. We had another beautiful, sunny day with temps approaching 40 degrees. I hope you all had a good Thursday! Technique Trumps Tools...
My not so Freezing Friday! Here's the setup: Stirling Pre-Shave Soap Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Astra day 5 Mickey Lee Paradise Frost SS Italian Barber Amici AS There you have it - wonderful stuff for a great shave. Not much chill to it but it's all good. The Paradise Frost soap smells glorious, lathers insanely-rich and easily with just a hint of cooling to it as well as very good post-shave care. The Amici aftershave has a scent which I absolutely love and a nice, mild cooling effect - leave it to Joseph and Michael to bring in fabulous treasures! A super weekend to everyone in advance!
My celebratory shave for my first born daughter!! Born 01-28-2016 and after some complications she's finally home!!
