  1. I know what you mean, sometimes you go around one more time just cuz! I always have to step back and focus because I'll get a little careless on that 3rd run. I hate to trip up a perfect shave with a nick because I got loose.

  2. Aye..Lovely shavers those Shovelheads...Very quiet smooth & deceptively aggressive even..There are great soaps out there & I always get jumped on for saying this but in my books there is nothing as Slick & Cushions like a Good Tallow Soap..:p

  3. Oh my! Another life changer of an album - thanks Tom!
  4. I haven't seen an E1 for sale when I was looking.....But I have seen guys score one.....I know 9 times out of ten when someone says they scored an E1 they are disappointed to find out when it arrives that it is not....Thats why I wanted to do that post....I don't want to see any of our team getting duped out there in those rough 'Bay' waters....}8^))
Of course, on the other hand....any E is a great shaver....And those guys that find out they have an E2 instead of an E1, I can't feel too sorry for...since the E2 is thought by many to be the quintessential injector razor....};^))

Tell me Billy, or any of you guys who have an idea about this.....Why do you suppose Schick only made the E1 for a few months? Do you think the E2 was that much of an improvement that they couldn't wait?....lol!
I've heard that the E1s and the early E2s give very similar shaves.....I'd like to have an E1 to be able to make that comparison....

  5. As far as I know the only difference between the E 1 & E2 was the spring set up..The spring set up on the Type E 1 was taken off the D Type & was a Bit flimsy I reckon because the D Type opens differently with the scissor action...They strengthened the Type E 1 spring with sort of tabs on the side..I think they just changed the design of the spring because it was stronger & it stayed pretty much the same as time went on..These were Schick's early attempts at the Injectors & the D Type was only made for around 6 months as well of course..:)

  6. What I wonder about is why they didn't go back to making the F when the war was over? Maybe costs? I still think it is one of the best looking razors I own - maybe even the best. And it shaves better than the Gs as well. :happy036:
  7. A very cool looking razor. I don't think I have seen one in person.
  8. Schick Saturday
    Schick B2 Repeater /Schick (8)
    Col Conk Bay Rum
Vintage Rubberset Pure Badger Hair Original Knot
    Every Man Jack Face Lotion
    Gillette Cool Wave Splash
A very good shave this morning. The Conk Bay Rum is a good performing soap with excellent slickness and a mild Bay Rum Scent. The Chick blade is starting to dull and I had to concentrate on angle as this is only my 8th shave with this razor and I have not used it for a while. The shave ended up BBS and AGAIG. Have a blessed day Gentlemen.

  9. I continued with my rotation through the G series today with the G2. I'm happy to report it restored my faith in the G types. A big difference was the choice of blade. I loaded a Personna in it and it was like night and day vs. the Schicks that I had in the G1s that resulted in a "notso" happy experience. I don't think I've ever gotten a shave with a Schick in a Type G that I've really liked. Today's shave was with the same amount of growth, maybe a tad more, that I had with the G1. Much smoother shave with the Personna, easy to work with, no nicks, cuts, or weepers, and fantastic reduction with each pass. Hardly needed any touch ups at all. A great all around shave. :happy036:

  11. Today I received this NOS bullet tip. Near mint unused condition. I'm planning on shaving with it tomorrow with one of the blades that came with it. I'm hoping that the blade works well enough for a true vintage shave! image.jpeg

  14. The razor I'm familiar with, but old stock blades are unknown. I can always use a new blade if it's too rough. We'll see! Thanks!
