  1. Excellent setup this morning. Da Vinci Uomo's are underrated brushes in my book. Made my Kent BK8 an expendable item in my den.

  5. I continued with my rotation through the G series today with the G2. I'm happy to report it restored my faith in the G types. A big difference was the choice of blade. I loaded a Personna in it and it was like night and day vs. the Schicks that I had in the G1s that resulted in a "notso" happy experience. Today's shave was with the same amount of growth, maybe a tad more, that I had with the G1. Much smoother shave with the Personna, easy to work with, no nicks, cuts, or weepers, and fantastic reduction with each pass. Hardly needed any touch ups at all. A great all around shave. :happy036:

  12. The "Spoiler" is an often used blade by you. I see them on Ebay, but have never pulled the trigger due to their cost. Are they worth looking for?
  13. I love the 1-12 but it's almost impossible to find. :(
  14. The CC Bay Rum is too often maligned. I think it smells good and produces a very good, protective lather.

  18. Hello Primotenore, I had to restore the bottom tray on the case, the felt was badly deteriorated. I replaced the felt, and cleaned the razor, then polished the razor. I also had to clean the rest of the case. It was a low level, non-replate restoration. Thank you for the compliment. There are photos of before and after the restoration in " The Shine Box" thread in the forum. And thanks for your interest.

  19. Thank you Alan. I chose to have my MT revamped in 24k. The original plating was completely gone. While it's historical value was destroyed, it's now one of my most beautiful razors and shaves like a dream. The lighting makes the razor have an orange tint, but it really glistens gold in natural light.

  20. Saturday:
hot shower w/Mistral Black Amber bar soap
    Somersets Pre Shave Oil
    Gillette Slim (9/9/5) 3 passes
    Ladas S/S (2)
    B&M Beaudelaire soap
    Ever Ready boar
    Thayers unscented w/aloe
    Old Spice Burley A/S
    Old Spice Burley cologne

Second time using a Ladas Super Stainless and I'm thinking this blade won't make it into my top ten. Not awful, just slightly less than average.
