I already have more razors than I need or even use. However it's only the rather overboard price for an altered and now no longer original razor that will keep my RAD well under control..:happy097:

I just bought a slim adjustable on ebay. It looks like good condition but I want it totally restored so I can use it like a new one. I've decided to start using my gold black beauty and will rotate it with the slim so it's not my daily driver. Question. ..I can't decide what finish to put on the slim. Original nickel? 24K gold? Iridium? Brushed nickel or maybe rose gold. Any ideas??

Slims are very good razors. They are also very numerous, and not considered rare. So, whichever finish you like the most, go for it. I've had razors done in Nickel and Rhodium, and prefer nickel, for that razor. Nice bright nickel is stunning, and not expensive.
Sport Shaving and Razor Emporium both do very good work.

For that kind of money I'm holding out for a Double Ring.

What do you like about double ring shavers?

The history. Being they were the first Old Types made and no more than 500K were produced. They do shave the same as a single ring but they are rare and nice looking too. I have about 10 other vintage razors I like and use, but my 3 single rings and Bulldog are my favorite vintage. For example. I have a Single Ring made in 1908. My grandfather was 3 years old then - wow. It just gives me a thrill to shave with a razor that is over 100 years old and was made by a person(s) born in the late 1800's. Sorry. Long answer to a short question.

That is the very reason I like shaving with vintage Wostenholm&sons str8's 1849/1890 circa.

I just happen to have one on the bay ;) (admins, feel free to delete if this is considered bad form. I just know they don't come up often and I have no interest in keeping it).
