    I've been w/out a wallet for a few days now after having misplaced/dropped/lost my old one :(
    Been looking around what's out there (last time I bought a wallet was 10 years ago) and thought I'd see if I can solicit some wallet-purchase-suggestions from you fine folk.

    I'm a complete cheapskate when it comes to these things though, not sure why. My last wallet was probably $15 or so and was in great condition until its early demise.
    Some 'requirements' or 'nice-to-have's'
    * Price: Below $50.
    I want some left to put in the wallet.

    * Leather

    * No ID-card-window.
    Never used or cared for them. Most people require you to take it out anyway.

    * Fit 4-6 credit cards
    This may well go down in a couple of months when I will be plastc'ing it

    * Section for cash.
    I like cards but I still use cash as well. Call me old-fashioned.

    * RFID Protection would be nice but not a complete must-have

    So far, my 'top candidate' is this little thing from Saddleback - the;

    Bifold-wallet Medium

    Video:

    It is $59 so ten bucks more than I wanted to spend (at least shipping is free)..but I like a lot about it. Even RFID protection. It's also - handmade in the USA and a 100 year warranty

    Anywho, thought I'd see if any of you clever lads (or lasses) have some other recommendation along these lines before I bite down and get one.

    I've always had good luck with Fossil wallets, but I wouldn't go out of my way to look for one. I just happen to have a Fossil outlet store in driving distance, and they carry a couple hundred wallets at any given time.

    I've looked at the saddleback wallet before, a couple years ago. Very tempting. I'll probably order one when I get a bible cover from them.

    I switched to a front pocket wallet....An American made Rogue 40 bucks
    I find it easier on back not sitting on a wallet..plus cash storage, more photos and details in link above

    Thanks, the only thing I worry a bit about with Saddleback's wallets is that they might end up being very thick.

    Thanks - not sure I've ever seen and/or considered a design/shape like that.
    Interesting - thanks! I'll check them out.

    i don't have that particular wallet (medium bifold), but i absolutely love my SBL front pocket ID wallet and my business card wallet (which i sometimes will tuck a couple of extra cards) and my old bull belts and ... and ...

    SBL products are simply TOP NOTCH !

    Yeah the design mirrors how front pockets are cut. I'll never use anything else. My dad was using a money clip holding money, cc, ID etc...until he saw my wallet...got him one for Christmas. He mentions it frequently how nice it is. Takes a little to get use to but my back (which is very bad) thanks me.

    Hm. Interesting again as I have always had a bad lower back - and always carried a wallet in my back pocket.

    Hi Charlie, quick question on the small bifold - does it have a pouch/section for cash or is it just the two areas where you insert the cards?

    I never knew that Saddleback has such a following in the wetshaving community.
    They should make razor sleeves, toiletry bags, etc :)

    I stopped using a regular wallet a long time ago. Ever since I learn that having a big wallet on one side of your butt, can screw up your hips. So I started carrying two business card holder wallets. Something similar to this, but has a window on the one side.

    [IMG]

    I carry one with drivers license in the window and a couple of credit cards or membership cards in the other side. In the second holder wallet, I carry triple AAA, health cards and a couple of business cards. The second one also carries folded over cash. I also carry the house key in the 1st wallet. The only keys on my car ring is the car and gate key.

    Neither wallet is over 1/2 inch think with the driver's license one being less than 3/8 inch thick.

    I'm in the market for a new wallet as well and have narrowed it down to either Saddleback or Popov. Saddleback is actually made in Mexico, they have a small line made in the US but not the wallets as far as I know. Popov is made in Canada. Same price point.

    OK - decision made.
    I wanted a smaller wallet. Going to try this 'front-pocket' carry thing.
    In the end I went with Popov for a couple of reasons;
    a) I didn't like how the Saddleback small bifold had the cards going in horizontally,
    b) The Popov wallets are a bit slimmer, and
    c) Popov was super friendly and helpful on Twitter tonight. Love good CS. :)

    So, I ordered this one (with cream stitching though).
    Really excited to get it....in 2-3 weeks... :)

    Glad you found something you liked :)
    And thanks for the code. I'm going to mull it over for a few more days but am leaning towards Popov also. Their wallets look thinner while still being quality & they seem like nice people.

    There's a slew of youtube videos as well by customer's showing off their wallets - that actually helped narrowing it down for me. And thank you for suggesting them.

    Interesting thread. I think wallets are as divisive as Arko. I would never carry a "wallet" because I don't like to have stuff in my pockets. I seldom have cash anyway. For everything else it's a Ridge for me. image.jpeg image.jpeg
