Well I also keep the inventory in an Excel file. That probably qualifies me for BBBAD.....Beyond Bad Blade Acquisition Disorder!
I tried the dorco 300 this morning for a head shave. I out if curiosity shaved my WTG pass on one cheek with it too. It didn't pull much and it removed a fair amount of stubble. Not a terrible blade but not the best either. If I wasn't going into no variation nov I would try the 301 and primes. I might take you up on your offer then.
No. That would qualify you for TABAD . . . . Technology Assisted Blade Acquisition Disorder. If you do create a spreadsheet, you might want to track more than your inventory, e.g. how each blade type works with each razor. You do have more than one razor I trust? The American Psycologoical Association defines BAD as almost always co-occuring with RAD.
Yes. I got some great shaves from the Prime blade. Having read that the ST-301 is in fact the same blade, I placed an order for those. Put one in each of two '50s superspeeds and tested. Day one I got great shaves, with the right side slightly closer. I got a phone call in the middle of the shave and then forgot to see which blade had done which side. Day two, which was this morning, I was careful to note that the St-301 was on the right side. Again, great shaves, with the right side ever so slightly closer. When I do a regular shave with one razor and one blade, the right side is usually slightly closer and smoother. Bottom line: I am now convinced that the Prime and St-301 are the same blade. No irritation at all. With one full WTG pass and a couple of quick XTG passes and a bit of touch up, I'm getting BBS. The combination of Dorco in a post war Gillette TTO, and I can end my search for the perfect combination. Though, to keep shaving interesting, tomorrow I will match the Dorco against Astra SPs, which were my go-to. And then, I will try the Dorco in other razors. I've acquired about 30 in the last 3 months, but have only found about 1/2 dozen that I like. But some day may just settle down to a no-notch with a Dorco.
Good or bad blade I just can't get over the moniker. We had a kid in high school with that as a nick name.
