Yes it is.. I was hoping the plating was still intact, but oh well. I'll shave with it in a few days and see well it does.
Thank you. I was just thinking .. Anybody know if jeweler would plate razors? Anybody have experience with that?
this was my last purchase of a razor. I'm done. Moving forward I will be concentrating on using what I have and focusing on my technique. My plan is to use one razor per week. I currently have : 1. merkur long handle 2 weishi 3 red tip 4 66 slim 5 58 tv special 6 gold tech 7 Hoffritz slant 8 Sheraton 9 black SS V2( waiting for it to arrive) I wanted to have a wide variety of razors that are completely different. The only similar razors that I will have would be the weishi, 58 tv special and black ss. I hear these are relatively similar in performance but each one was acquired for different reasons. The weishi was my first purchase of a DE. The 58 tv was in a trade acquisition , the black SS was my birth year and qrtr.
I now have ~5 shaves with it. Definitely a nice razor. Would definitely recommend it or the other company's that sell the same razor (scotch & Stowe: which is cheaper but not black)
No doubt. I'm still kinda open to possibilities on an open comb. I'm delving into a straight right now, so I have to get at least a strop and send the razor i got out for honing. But one is in my future. (Ok, probably more than one)
Good luck with a straight. Those scare me. If I cut myself with a de ... I can only imagine what would happen with a straight
Don't overlook the GILLETTE NEW OC, they are fine shavers and very comfortable ones at that. I routinely achieve an easy BBS with mine.
Da Mudder load. Two separate deliveries. A few nice bonuses. FB case and Sterling Soap. First time trying. 1938 Gillette Senator open comb razor and a 1947 Gillette Aristocrat in with case and blade holder. Muhle XL synthetic brush number 35K257 25mm knot.
Thanks! I've been reading up, watching videos. If you do it right, it's pretty safe. They scared me until I got into this whole wet shaving thing. Once I realized how great a DE is, I just gotta try a Straight.
