Yep, glen said camel bone. He use tea to stain it as well. they look great in oics i cant wait for next week when they get here! Jon
Saw these images a few days ago in SRP face bookers. Lovely restore on two fine Greaves! Love the bone/blood wood combo!
Just got these. WOW Glen does nice work, just amazing! that chopper is crazy big. looks to be right about 9/8s maybe a little less than 1/64th or so less. My caliber shows it at 1.11 inches on the blade and the spine measures .33 inches... just a beast. I am planning to keep the 'little' one i think, which is a solid 7/8's, but i'm gonna have to list the big one... I planned on shaving with it at least once but... I don't think I'm not man enough for that much steel lol. Any of you shave with one of these Greaves choppers? any words of encouragement just in case I give it a shot Jon
Jon, my only advice with the big chopper is 'slow & easy going—let the blade do the work.' Those big choppers can be intimidating, but once you get used to the shear width of it, as with any other large blade, you'll have fun!
Beauties. I love the look of a nice straight. I just don't like the blood that comes along with them. I guess that helps me save money.
One of those times when I need an "I lol'd" button and not necessarily a like button. Sounds like she was swinging from Santa's house with that thing. My fifth grade teacher used to throw tennis balls at us when we needed to focus (lol).
