Day 13-Schick Repeater focus Managed a perfectly acceptable DFS today with the B2. It will never be my favorite razor or the one chosen often but i have managed to sort it out which was what I had intened in this focus. I will continue using the B2 until the blade dulls and then onto the type C repeating razor. The soap and aftershave combo was awesome and I may just have to keep these two together as a pair from now on.
I am glad you got it sorted. We all have razors that are less favored but it is nice to know that we can master them. Even so the B2 is one wicked cool looking razor.
SOTD February 13, 2016 Focus day 13 Prep: Warm shower Blade: Personna lab blue (1) Razor: Vintage Gillette Slim (on pass-around from @youngunn) Brush: Escali badger Lather: Country Club for Men Cahaba Blues Post: Witch hazel splash enhanced with drug-store New Spice after shave, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, XTG, touch-up Break of focus and change of pace today by way of using a vintage Slim that is on loan. Neat razor - good weight, easy to use, etc. I really enjoyed the Slim! This was my first use of a vintage razor. If Super Speeds and other vintage Gillettes shave similarly then I'll have to be on the lookout for a procurement. I switched back to Personna lab blues today after an unpleasant experience yesterday with an Astra SS. Personnas are great blades for me and they get tons of use from TSD members. I bought a 100-pack last week and will probably use them as my main blades while livening things up time to time with some of the other varieties that I have. The badger brush whipped up some beautiful, thick lather from Country Club's Cahaba Blues. That is a top-notch soap and I'm glad to own it. It's thick, cushioning, slick, and overall of high quality. I went out on a limb yesterday and got a bottle of Old Spice knock-off from a discount pharmacy. It was only $2 for a 6oz bottle. I put a little in my witch hazel because the strength of scent was unknown. I'll shake out a little more next time. My wife isn't too sure about it yet. Overall a fine shave of DFS results. I was able to take more time today and do two full passes with some touch-up. It would probably be BBS except for some stubborn hairs on both sides of my Adam's apple. I went after them in all the passes but didn't want to push it to the point of irritation. It is QUITE tempting to go after BBS when I have the time. However, irritation would negate and diminish the joys of BBS and therefore I go as far as I should and then often stop. That serves me well in the long run. Enjoy the rest of your Saturday!

I still haven't shaved since my daughter was born, and I know I am the prototypical doting father, but my other kids are really enjoying this. Here is my son, rocking her as she sleeps.
He has been the baby for 5 years, and I was a little worried how he would adjust. So far, he has been a great caretaker and very protective. He makes me very proud. I named him after my father, and he reminds me a lot of my father. If he turns out to be half the man my father is, then I would have done something right as a dad myself.
