If you have honed your technique enough for the G8, you are ready for the E...They are very similar....enjoy!
Rolls Razor.. Three Pass Shaving Routine... Hot Water prep & massage with Coconut Oil Rolls Razor Wedge Hollow Ground Blade Mason & Pearson Pure Badger French Monsovan Bol Tallow soap Thayers Original Witch Hazel I just had the Most Wonderful BBS Dolphin Smooth Shave with my Rolls this Moring..I am really Digging the Rolls at the Moment..You can see the shaving angle is the same as a straight razor..I don't use the Safety Bar as I enjoy the Freedom of the Blade on its Lonesome..Smooth & Smooth..I couldn't have got a better shave out a Schick Twin Blade Injector ..I brought some life back into the Hone & Strop by cleaning them with Baking Soda & a Soft Tooth Brush..The Hone & Strop Pads need to be absolutely immaculate & flat or you are up a Gum Tree..Any Dirt Particles will just damage the blade..The Pads can be a bit brittle after laying around for years especially the Stropping Pad.. I Softened it up by applying Hemp Oil a layer at a time & allowing it to soak it up..I got hold of some Red Oxide Stropping Paste & Bobs your Uncle..The Runners in the Stropping Mechanism need Cleaned & Greased as well..There is a lot of heat gets generated when using this System..My Blade is Awesomely Sharp & that Dolphin Smooth Shine on my Face is the End Result..The Rolls Wedge Blades is just so Comfortable Indeed..I am Loving the Feel of Natural Steel & the Post Shave Sorta Feeling that these blades have to offer..Good karma.. Billy..
Brave and tough.....I heard Billy and Superman had a fight and the loser had to wear his underwear on the outside of his clothes...
The C2 was out this morning and man what an excellent shave! I'm now thinking this might be my favorite over the C3. It's a close contest. This is a fine razor that much is true!
Schick Saturday L Blue handle./ Chick (5) FCSSC Barrie Bay Rum L'Occitane Plisson Synthetic Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel Pinaud Clubman VIBR A very good shave today. The FCSSC soap lathers well with excellent slickness. The synthetic made voluminous lather, and I find with synthetics, you have to start with a dryer brush and add water gradually until you get the consistency you need. It is easy to overload on water. BBS and AGAIG.
I admire your equipment, gentlemen, in a very manly way! You're fuelling my RAD demons. I'll have to restore my Dad's old Rolls razor but it's been laying idle for decades. A project for the long winter nights. BillyFergie must be a real multitasking hero - taking a selfie while shave posing with a bare Rolls. Regards, Chris
....You killin me ovah heeyah...! But I heard that was true...not a joke..and there's something floating around that they were negotiating for a new 'Bowl Game'. The winners from the Super Bowl were suppose to go up against Billy single handed...They were going to call it the "Shaving Bowl", but the Denver Broncos backed out because they thought Billy had too much of an advantage if it was held in Scotland......true story!
Stayed with the type B again and was rewarded with a pretty decent shave. Fifth day on the Chick blade and still feeling sharp.
Dainty, ain't it? That is one fabulous looking Rolls but I want to know about the bike in the background.
You're Killin my Ribs you Lot.. @Karl G the Motorbike is a Triumph 750 Bonnie that I built & owned for about 15 Years..It has a Custom Hurricane Tank & Seat Unit on It.. Billy..
He's the reason Waldo is hiding. Bill Gates lives in constant fear that Billy's Computer might crash.
February 13, 2016 February Focus on my Schick Type D - The first Schick Injector Razor circa 1935 Shave 7/8 (Thursday & Friday) Hot Shower Razor: Schick Type D Blade: Schick Plus Platinum (3&4) Soap: Mitchell Wool Fat Brush: Rubberset 400-4 Witch Hazel: Thayers AS: Myrsol Plastic Shave My third and fourth shave with the Plus Platinum blade. 2-pass shaves (XTG,ATG) Solid shaves with all four shaves using the Plus Platinum. But they didn’t seem to be as good as when I used this blade in the C1 last month. One thing for sure, I will recommend the MWF soap. I had read that this is a soap that could give people fits figuring out the water / soap ratio and whether to bloom, etc. I merely just rubbed the puck on my face until a healthy amount coated my whiskers and then with a damp / soaked boar brush went to town on the face lathering and immediately developed a great thick, slick lather as easy as can be. Cheers! RT
Tallow soaps are the Dogs Danglies for Sure..A lot of folks use too much water with them & Muck up the Lather..A Damp Soaked brush as you say is all you need & is the Key to lathering most Tallow soaps..The hard water thesis is a bit of a Myth an All...One of the Guys in another Forum that I know got some of the Hardest water sent to him in the UK & he tested this..He Tested it on MWF found that the Hard & Soft Water Hypothesis didn't hold up.. Burst the Bubble on that One..MWF can benefit from pouring some water on it directly for a few minutes in the Puck tho & then drain it off before lathering... Billy..
Well I agree with all the gasps of awe from all of you regarding Billy the Great, but you missed the most awesome of the entire demonstration - he did it all while standing on the wall in a gravity defying position!!!
February 13, 2016 Valentine’s Dinner February Focus on my Schick Type D - The first Schick Injector Razor circa 1935 Shave 9 Hot Shower Razor: Schick Type D Blade: Schick (Holland) (1) Soap: Saponificio Varesino 70th Anniversary Brush: Rubberset 400-4 Witch Hazel: Thayers AS: Saponificio Varesino 70th Anniversary Saturday evening shave prior to Valentine’s Eve Dinner with Mrs. Firefly. Treated myself to a new blade in the Type D - a Dutch Danglie as we refer to this NOS Schick blade made in Holland. 2-pass shave (XTG,ATG) This very sharp Dutch blade combined with the easy-handling Type D resulted in an extremely close, bonafide BBS shave. Seven hours since the shave and it’s still as smooth. That is one sharp blade that shines in this razor both on an excellent, first pass reduction and an unbelievable whisker eradication on the second pass. This is a rotation-worthy combination. The SV soap was as great a performer as the MWF soap I used the previous two shaves, using the same face puck-rubbing, face-lathering technique. Combined with the SV aftershave, I was all set for a memorable Valentine’s Eve on the town with Mrs. Firefly. Cheers! RT
