That's ok, Rodger showed me the way. It didn't help, my wife just said I was already well on my way.

I may not be there now, but I'm from AZ. My family has been there since the early 1800s. I always celebrate AZ statehood day.

It sounds like our wives have a lot in common. I've just been gripped looking for Victorian wash stands. Thankfully it is a day of love so we can't argue.

Beautiful effortless 3 pass BBS. Either my skills have improved completely out the blue or this razor is idiot proof. I suspect it's the razor. Zero irritation again which is new to me. I soaked my MWF for 21 hours and decided it was ready. No issues at all lathering and I am in love with MWF. Surely the guys at fine worked with Mitchell's when creating Fine L'orange. That partnership cannot be coincidental. All the components of this shave were sublime. @clint64 and @Hodge thanks for the advice. Have a great day all.

Tom I believe your skills are vastly improved and you pair well with an efficient razor. I prefer efficient or aggressive razors myself because they cut close and require less passes or touchups affording me an irritation free shave. Well done, Tom! :signs107: Very :signs021: handle on that Omega BTW.

Thanks for the encouragement Robby. My knowledge of brushes needs some work. I just pick whichever I find pretty. I got lucky this time as it performs well.

Thanks Charlie! The scuttle is the one thing I decided I wanted right out of the gate. All my other choices came later.
Old Type vs. the New LC is a good question. I think the Old Type is a more aggressive razor and seems to have a narrower optimum cutting angle than the LC. Of course, my memory may be playing tricks on me. I haven't used the New LC since December. I enjoy using both of them. I may just have to do a comparison some time. ;)

As far as shaves are concerned, I have a little better record of BBS shaves with the New LC than the Old Type. 81% vs. 67%. But of course, YMMV. :happy005:

I think Omega brushes have a very good reputation and perform well above their price range. :)

    30 Day Focus Feb 14, 2015

    Proraso Preshave cream
    Gillette Heavy Tech / Derby
    Omega / Proraso White
WH / Shea butter / Proraso ASB

First day with the Derby. I chose the Proraso team to shave with this morning because it is usually the best in terms of prep and slick lather. The blade was a bit edgy, but nothing more than I would have expected first day with a new blade. The shave seemed to be progressing well until I rinsed my face and was very surprised to see three very small weepers. :angry019:. Overall it was a darn fine shave...except for the three micro-weepers. The blade was remarkably smooth for the first use. And it is sharp...but as I note above a bit edgy. Not sure why this would have happened...my technique is very good and I am familiar with the products, except for the blade. We will see tomorrow if this continues. I will keep an open mind.

Gents...don't forget today is Valentines Day! :love055:
