2/14/16 Gillette Old Type Wilkinson sword (2) Vulfix Super Badger (660) C,O. Bigelow cream Georgetown G12 Scuttle Pinaud Clubman Original Third and final shave with the Wilkinson Sword this month in the Gillette Old Type. Added menthol to the mix with the C.O. Bigelow. Plenty of slick creamy lather to help the razor's glide. Did my normal 2 pass plus touch up. Today it seemed like I needed to work a little more than yesterday to capture the baby. But the effort was worth it. A nice Valentine’s Day BBS with a double dose of Clubman since my bride likes the scent. Happy Valentine’s Day to one and all. I hope you are able to be with your loved ones today.

02/14/2016 Cobra Classic Feather Pro (5) Olivewood with TGN Finest Fan TSD Signature Scent Witch Hazel Captain’s Choice Bay Rum Whipped Shea Butter The Cobra is certainly more aggressive and efficient than either the AlumiGoose or Mongoose. At last I am getting comfortable with gripping the Cobra and that helped getting the best shave yet with the CC. A 2 pass shave, ATG & XTG, followed by minor touch ups in my trouble spots allowed me to catch the baby. Finished the shave with a splash of Captain's Choice Bay Rum. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.
Mongoose Focus I just had to play with my newest acquisition so I took a day off my focus. This Hoffritz is a nice razor. I got a two pass BBS today. Back to the Focus. SOTD Mitchell's Wool Fat Doug Korn brush Hoffritz slant Feather (2) Alum Chrome Azzaro Cologne Happy Sunday!
Straights Focus February 14: Homemade PS Oil Frank Shaving Pur-Tech Brush TSD Lanolin Iced Sub-zero Ralf Aust 5/8 Stirling Unscented PSB -- Mentholated The Veg I finally got a shave in this morning. I was feeling very fuzzy and a bit itchy. The Aust took care of the whiskers almost as if they weren't there. It was a very nice two pass shave resulting in a DFS. My family is starting to adjust to the new normal, and I figured The Veg would help that process out a bit.
Yes, I tend to agree. I have used Derby blades before in my Parker shavette and they used to give me weepers...I thought it was the open blade and my general lack of experience with the shavette. Then I tried started corking the blade to smooth it out and then they were fine. I thought about corking the blade this morning, but I decided to try it fresh from the package. The blade just seems to have a edginess to them that lends itself to weepers.
