In anticipation of receiving the Bunny pass around I wanted to get a benchmark shave in with one of the best razors in the den - my PAL Adjustable. One thing that stands out about the PAL Adjustable is how smooth it is. Many find it hard to find the angle but once you do it is like sliding down a hill on a toboggan in winter. It's that simple and smooth. And you can't argue with the result. All around smooth, smooth, smooth. :happy036:

hot shower w/Crabtree & Evelyn Sandalwood bar soap
    Somersets PSO
    PAL InjectoMatic 3 passes
    Personna Platinum (1)
    EverReady boar
D R Harris Marlborough soap in a warm mug
    Thayers unscented w/aloe
    Crusellas Kolonia 1800 edc

First shave with my recently acquired PAL InjectoMatic. I loaded it with a Personna rather than my preferred Schick because when I first got this razor the blade that was in it was badly corroded and I needed to remove it in order to properly clean the razor. If you've ever tried to load an injector when it doesn't have a blade in it, you know how easy it is to damage the blade. It would have been a pain to break open my used blade bank and I only had one Personna left (don't think I'll buy more) so I knew I wouldn't mind if I wasted it. I was actually concerned that the spring was bad because without a blade in the razor, the bottom plate had a lot of movement so I was quite pleased once I got a blade in that everything lined up well and the spring was good and tight. I made note of how much of the blade is exposed and compared it to several of my Schick Injectors and adjusted my angle accordingly. I took a tip from another user and proceeded with a very light touch attempting to simply let the razor do the work but that proved to be somewhat tricky considering how light weight this particular tool is. I got a good shave (for a maiden voyage) and I'm sure I'll get better with it but my first impression is that this razor would benefit from a bit more weight.

    Hi Friends,

here now my Afternoon shave. Today i had the first shave, with my new brush. The legendary Semogue 1305. I can tell you...everything written about it, is true. It is fantastic. I love the handle, because of it´s colour and the shape. Feels so good and ergonomical. Great!!! So, here is what i used:

Semogue 1305 // Sapone da Barba Vegetale alla Mandorla // GEM Featherweight // GEM Stainless (6) // Tüff Red

Great shave. The GEM Featherweight is a loan and this shave showed me again, that i´m more and more into SE-shaving. The shaves are so gentle and thoroughly in less passes, that it´s a true joy. I can´t tell anything negativ about SE-Razors. They work fantastic for me so that my DE-razors have a hard time in the future. ;)

Hope you are fine and have a great time. Take care.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

You know, I think I`ve been doing the same thing, I do a watered down 3rd pass, but maybe I should add a little to the other passes as well. Maybe I wouldn`t need a 3rd pass (cut back on irritation). Bill

The shave today was not up to my normal standards. The blade felt rough and whisker reduction was not happening as I felt it should. As I had not used this razor for a long time, I put the blame on lack of familiarity with the razor, and the fact that this was the first time I used a Castle Forbes cream. Before my last ATG pass I changed out the blade to a Gem Carbon, and there was a big difference. The blade glided over my face with no irritation and I ended up with a DFS. The CF Lime cream has an excellent scent that stays with you throughout the shave, and gives plenty of slickness and cushion.

For Sunday I brought out this Valet VC4 that I got last month! Pretty decent shave but I still think the feather blade is so so. Have a great day everyone!

I am a little slow on the uptake some days. We stayed up late watching a movie the last two nights, so my addled brain is a little more addled.

Getting an SE shave in today. Was planning on doing a lot of SE shaving in February, but decided to enjoy some great DE shaves and I did. But will continue to do SE shaves as often as I can. Need to work on the SE technique.
