In a word, No. Vintage GEM's,ER's, Gillettes and Schick's are better made than most modern razors, thats why I'm shaving with a 100 year old...

I am a big fan of Perma-Sharps. I find them to be very sharp but smooth on my face, I pair them with a Single Ring or Old Type and get great shaves.

I am in the minority, but Derby's are my go to blade. I get the best most comfortable shaves with them and they last 4-5 shaves for me. YMMV

DR Harris Almond is definitely a non sweet almond. I can't stand the smell myself but a lot of folks love the stuff. As always YMMV
