My box of goodies from west coast shave arrived , been tracking order and went on a no shave for last 4 days waiting . Drum roll please ,,,,,, put teakettle on medium grabbed a shower got out , filled Dirtybird brush skuttle put shiney new ej89l with a red personna blade and Forest Tambootie 2201 into soak in water.Washed face with musgo glyce lime , sorta rough splashed it off ,choose the speick shave cream , into bowl it went , loaded brush tips with col conk amber went to work . My first superlather as well , need to add a lil water ( learned over last month to under mix lather so skuttle doesnt cook the lather) ,worked onto face good minute . Went slow with the ej89l short strokes lots of swirling to clear blade ( 4 days shave strike ) 1st pass no longer looked dirty , splashed some water evaluated face. Pass number with brush mmm hot scented lather,scent really more noticeable than previous pass , sorta herb and cedar smelling ( I like it !) . More hot water bbs cheeks , 3rd pass worked on upper lip and neck XTG passes . More water last lather up squeezed brush lots and lots of warm lather had to remove some . Dreaded ATG on neck felt around neck with hair going every direction smeared lather worked on my weirdo neck I guess would be called a 4-5 pass all at same time . Neck a little red (it always is ),but not as bad as the mach3 leaves me. Cleaned bill bowl and interior bowl on skuttle used outer bowl hot water to wash lather off face and the chin strap . Cold water and razor rock ( 1st alum use )little burn , thayer witch hazel no alcohol to rinse off , decided to splash a little dominica lime bayrum and learned what a real burn is OMG ,great smel...l please God let the burn stop . Had to cool with with neatrogena post shave cooled it down nicely . Cuts 0 , neck redness less than normal still a rough bit here and there ( always is on neck ) overall very pleased . Nice. I have problems with neck hair as well. Keep at it and you'll learn how to get it. I buff and j hook and get some good results.

This site has trained me well many hours going over info , cant wait to shave again, next up will be my other brush cleaves extra horse hair and the tabac shave stick face lather shave ..
Congrats! as time progresses that burn from the Dominica will diminish. You will learn to enjoy the slight burn. The thing I love about Dominica is the "Heat" sensation I get from it. I apply it twice. I love it as much as the cooling I get from my Skin Bracer. By the way I like Dominica with no Lemon. The Scent it a tad nicer.
I remember my first DE shave with relish, it was so great. Rabid , you learn fast , you are advanced. Next shave , your own shaving blog.

Glad it went well. It should just get better, if not I think simplifying would be the direction to go. Not that the way you did it is wrong, just opens the door for you to react poorly to more products. Might never be an issue for you, so don't do more than keep this in the back of your mind for now.
thanks for the advice on the burn I was thinking about cutting it with the thayers uncented , Ill wait a bit 1st if it lessens with time
