Hi fellas! My wife has been giving me a bit of a hard time about not joining the big beard bandwagon. I wore a full beard for probably 20 years of our marriage and otherwise have always had mustache or van dyke style. I'm a week into Christmas break without a shave and am seriously considering letting it go wild for a bit. I will have to shave the neck because I can't take the itchiness. Worry not, the balding pate will need to be kept slick, so wet shaving will continue.
Nothing wrong with or without a beard. I spent over 20 years having to be clean shaven for military duty, so I finally let the beard grow back. However, I still need to shave my neck and the tops of my cheeks. I say go for the bearded look until you decide otherwise. Sent via Tapatalk
First off ... what does she like? Then .... what do you like? Then do what she likes .... Remember ... Happy wife, happy life!
The big beard thing is already more than five years old. Time to move on. You need to be a trend setter, not a trend follower (especially one that’s fading)
I use to have a beard or van dyke, but due to the gray; I didn't like the fact that it aged me 20 years wearing it.
I started mine about 10 years ago and its kind of never left. My wife likes a beard too, so I get it.
Dude. I say stay clean shaven and leave the goat. You have too much of that “Mr. M looks like he could be a bad SOB if you crossed him” thing going on for a HS teacher to give it up.
Likely will just keep the goat and lose the cheeks, but school doesn't start back for a week, so I'll consider how it starts to fill in before I completely decide. I fear the white may age me too much.
Mine is light black. People mistake it for white, but it is a distinct light black ... very light. Ha ha ha. Sent via Tapatalk
You'll know for sure when they ask you to be Santa. Seriously though, several years ago (when I had a beard) I had good success with Just For Men Beard/Mustache. It comes in about 10 different shades and you only have to apply it about once a week. It seems for a lot of men (me included) that the beard goes gray/white ahead of the hair on your head so you end up with a brown head and a gray face. Using the color treatment let me create a more natural look with gray at the temples and then darker on the chin. Since you're keeping your head shaved it might not matter but then again you might not be ready for a full white chin.
