This lovely old Sheffield Hives warranted Stubtail came my way as part of a trade from fellow forum member It looked OK no bevel wrong scales but I saw there was potential, so I made a pair of horn scales after looking at many stubtail photo's I finally settled on a style I liked plus I had some nice pins and domed washers which I thought would kind of keep it's look authentic hopefully, I used a blood red acrylic wedge I always glue and then peen after a mock set up run, I honed the razor this morning suprisingly easy and what a fantastic edge my thumb as a big gash to prove it, I may give the razor a run out on Sunday.
Nice work Jamie, and a great shape choice for the scales! Nice and straight Looking forward to that shave report on Sunday
I mentioned it on SRP Facebook and I restate it here— outstanding restore, Jamie! I also appreciate the 'in-progress' shots as well. I need to keep reminding myself to do more of that during the job. Of course, looking at how immaculate tidy your work space is, I certainly need to do some shop clean-up before snapping some photos!
