  2. Do you mean the Stirling Paul? It can be and I guess I can take requests lol. Do you prefer Bay Rum or Black Cherry?

    @Trigger
    I don't know.
    I don't really like them.
I own this razor since June 2014, and this is the only blade used.
Reading my records, at the 5th shave I started to like it.
Even too sharp for my tastes.

But I love the design of the razor.

  6. They are very sharp that's for sure. I like them, but I must admit that it took a few shaves to appreciate them. It may be your beard and skin type just doesn't gel with the blade.

My last shave was Christmas Day (Monday), although I never posted it. I moved up to "5" on the T2 dial and used a fresh blade. Shaving with care, I did one or maybe two passes, no errors, DFS.

Today, for my last shave in both DE December and in 2023 (I am shaving at 11:30pm...) I went to "6" on the T2 razor. That's the final setting - - wide open.

I knew I had no chance of an error- and blood-free shave, because I had a couple of sore pimples or ingrown hairs outbroken beneath my scruffy whiskers in my goatee area. But I did the full-open shave anyway.

The result was two passes to a DFS. The razor has more blade feel at this setting, but is quite easily controllable if I "ride the cap" and use no pressure.

I ended up with four blood spots where the razor fixed my skin problem by slicing the pimples down to ground level along with the whiskers. Three were sealed off without a trace by the alum rub. The biggest one required a dab of styptic gel.

Overall an excellent shave to finish off the month and the year.

I think the T2 is a fine razor. Now that I have tried it all the way to a fully open " 6" dial setting, I will probably end up using it mainly on a comfortable mid-range "3" or occasional "4". And the Rockwell blades are perfectly adequate in it -- which is fortunate since I have not just a couple 5-count boxes of them but also a sleeve of 100...

Hope everyone had a great holiday season! And a wonderful 2024!
My response: Great year ending shave Scott! Rockwell razors are excellent whisker removers. Happy New Year!

Sorry John, when I wrote this response, I was at New Year's Eve service and got distracted by typing in Scott instead of John. The Dec thread is locked so I couldn't correct it there so here is my correction. Again, Happy New Year!

  10. Yes...I have goofy names for things. Stoylin=Stirling. It's a tie on my preference, as I'd have to get used to the Bay Rum(clove smell and all), and while I haven't tried Black Cherry I might like it with its relevance to Pipe Smoke.

I decided to ring in the New Year with another DE Shave. Don't worry. I will be doing a couple of straight shaves this week. Lol! I have to say that I consider this razor a mild to standard aggressive one. Personally, using this razor is like a walk in the park. Anyway, I went with the Captain's Choice North set for this session. I like the jasmine scent, but it is on the mild side of the spectrum. It's too bad that it was discontinued a few years ago. Captain's Choice needs plenty of water to get that smooth, creamy lather. Here's my lather:

Did three passes for a nice, comfortable and error-free BBS shave. I had enough lather for at least 5 passes, but did a 4th non-shaving pass because I like the scent and I don't like to waste lather. I really didn't need a lot of soap to get this amount of lather.
Anyway, I did get more than mild feedback on the neck. Splashed on the witch hazel and then the matching aftershave. This was a very nice shave. Take care.
