This razor I finished yesterday. The blank was forged from a friend from 1.2842 + 1.2767 to 400 layers. This time I made my first selfmade heat treating and hardening on the blade with my new annealing oven. It is a 8/8 full hollow ground blade with a handle from ebony. Hope you like it.
You know, the own kids are allways the smartest The razor pass the HHT easily, even with the thin hairs from my wife. The shave is smooth and close. I´m very happy with it.
Thats it. You need a experienced black smith to make a good pattern welded steel, but you need even a much better one, that can make such a nice grain in a hollow ground razor. On a wedge it is relativelly easy, because you dont have to remove much steel. But on a razor like this, the blacksmith has to pay attention with the pattern also deeper in the steel. Hope this guy will forging some blades more for me...
