I am relatively new at this, so please preface my comments with this in mind. For my safety razor journey, my only razor was a Mercur 25c. Our relationship paralleled my first marriage, the first shaves were great they went to hell with a vengeance. I watched more videos and read excerpts from Micheal Ham’s book which I will now read in it’s entirety. He stated that a bad shave usually points to bad preparation. He also recommended certain razors for beginners. As I mentioned before I ordered an embarrassing amount of stuff including a reconditioned Gillette Super Speed. In short, everything went perfect today. My face is incredibly smooth. I am sure I will be frustrated again but research and practice saved the day. Thanks for hearing one of the newest one’s out. Stay well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Thanks for sharing. Glad things are going better for you. Hope you just get better and better. Enjoy. May I suggest trying cold water shaving, too. Fellowship of Cold Water Shavers
Thought you would never ask: 1. Showered; 2. Splashed warm water in face, used liquid soap as oil; 3. Ran brush under hot water for 15 second, gave One shake; 4. Mixed Cremo Cooling Cream with a brush for approximately one minute; 5. Lathered up 3 times and did 3 passes; 6. Rinsed with hot then cold; and 7. Applied after shave. I used a vintage Gillette Super Speed, first time I ever got audio feedback. As a novice, I think my first razor was not a good fit. Everyone stay well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
