today i got a little close to my work and took off the end of my right pointer finger so typing with right hand is wack. i was being careful, but not careful enough. fortunately i missed the tip and the bone. i got a nice meaty slice taking off about a third of the nail and nail bed. this is going to slow me down a bit as you can imagine. i will take a picture for you all tomorrow when i change the dressing.
OW! That hurts just to read about! But, speedy recovery Jim and I guess it could have been a lot worse.
Ouchies! I did something similar to my index finger on my left hand using an Xacto knife. Except mine wouldn't stop bleeding, had to go get it cauterized with silver nitrate.
Ouch. Empathy and a similar experience has me feeling your pain. I scrolled quickly passed the photos. Mine was middle finger of left hand, and I'm left handed. Took of 1/4" of the finger tip bone and associated tissues while not paying close enough attention using a flood stand planer. The weirdest part was when the doctor put a stitch though what was left of the nail. It was a work place accident so the bosses insurance covered the expenses. If I had wanted cosmetic surgery I was available. Took long enough to heal so I didn't want to have it opened up again. Respect the spinning blades!
Sorry to hear that buddy. Hope it heals up quick for you. I guess you'll be keeping your change in the other pocket for a while.
