Adding EOs

    So I picked up a TINY little bottle of Sandalwood EO (Man is that stuff expensive...)that I'm planning to add to some unscented AS Balm I've got, and I'm wondering, how much should I add?

    I have 3mL of EO, and about 80mL of balm. Would a few drops cut it? The whole bottle? Any ideas?

    Hey Jim,

    I just asked a similar question over PM to one of our resident soapmakers here. It was about F.O.'s though and melted soap. Her response was between 15 and 30 drops because of the possibility of irritation. Not sure how that would translate into an EO like Sandalwood, but maybe start with less and keep adding until you like how it smells.

    Excellent advice.

    I'll add; be patient, find the sweet spot. Don't get all gung ho adding the EO. I think Dr. Mike has some experience to share there, if I recall correct.
