Razor post So a few months ago, well 6 months to be exact, my grandmother flew into town from her home town of Blisworth England. She had a surprise for me that she had brought with her. She had found out that I collected antique razors and remembered that my grandfather during WW2 had bought a travel kit which contained a razor in Hong Kong during his deployment. The kit contains a gillette double edge razor, 2 talc holders, a soap dish, a toothbrush holder and a brush. I believe the kit was also supposed to contain a comb and a mirror. She was also talking to my late grandfathers brother and he remembered in his attic was his wife's uncles strait razor shaving kit witch he gave to my grandmother to bring to me. The razor in this set can either be a double edge razor or you can use the shavette blades that are marked by the day of the week. I believe the handle is ivory in this set. I will always treasure these razors because of the stories behind them and whom they belonged too. My dad also found at a flea market a curvefit ladies razor which I'm also very excited to add to my collection. I am attaching pictures of all the razors to my post so you too can enjoy them. Really, really nice. Does the one with the ivory handle have a name/logo or something. Update: Doh...it says Wilkinson on the box
Great collection, and having family history behind them is fantastic. I believe the Wilkinson Ivory handle razor is a 1921 Pall Mall Safety Razor. Very nice! Here is a link. http://www.wilkinsonfscollection.com/wilkinsonfscollection.com/Wilkinsons_Razors.html
Sweeeet! Especially because of who it comes from. Two of my razors are passed through the family. I will cherish them as long as I live. Congratulations.
Congratulations, LadyBadger! Those are some really neat razors. The stories behind them make them all the more special indeed!
I have never seen that particular kind of Wilkinson. It is great. I have been on the fence about picking one of these up, but that variation? That is going on my list. You are lucky to have such great history attached as well. Super cool!
