    Can someone explain to me why having a little more of blade exposed would give a closer shave? Also do you need to hold razor at a different angle when more blade is exposed. Thank you very much

    Yes. When the edge of the blade is further away from the comb (on 9), the angle between the blade and the comb is different than when set at 1. Your hand has to be further away from your cheek on 9 than on 1. This difference is very slight, though.

    I don't believe it will. I think most will say that the aggressiveness increases, i.e. there is more space between the blade and the comb. This seems to allow whiskers to be cut more efficiently, reducing the number of passes required. However, the shave closeness does not increase or decrease.

    Good question. I suppose the greater the blade exposure the lower the angle you can use to shave which results in a closer shave. And the larger exposure means that the razor's base plate doesn't get as much in the way between the blade and the skin.

    Yes it does. If I shave at 1 the blade does nothing but scratch.
