In addition to TSD, I participate on another shaving forum and lurk on a couple others. At times (like now, for example), I get frustrated by drama and strife that crops up on those others, but never here. TSD: tons of shaving knowledge and experience, great people and conversation, and precious little drama. Thanks to you all, especially the mods and long time users that set the tone.
People are funny. We all can agree or disagree on a certain shaving topic, whether it deals with the procedure and/or equipment, but never should it become personal, nor should we diminish the contributions and personal preferences stated by others. ...unless, of course, someone claims Williams is the best soap available at any price—then all bets are off! :ahem:
Williams *is* the best soap ever, hands down, no question ever.* * (when used as a hockey puck or bug repellent).
Or like one of the Marx brothers said: these are my principles and if you don't like them, I've got others.
So what's the story with Herban Cowboy? Came to this thread by searching for HC, since I picked some of this up today at a Plum Market (like a Whole Foods) since I was curious. Does it have a good reputation? Or a bad one?
Maybe one of the most powerful sentences there is, if you start thinking about what is behind it and the sacrifices it reprsents; "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
If you want to shave with Crisco® and a clam shell I have no truck with that. But one must finish with The Veg.
My eyes must need testing...I thought this was to be a thread on Albert Hoffman's and Owsley Stanley's psychedelic progeny!
Wow, extensive review. Going to bookmark this as the standard for what a soap review should be, for future reference!
