I knew it! Geico is getting an Air Force together to FORCE us to lower car insurance! :rofl Nice pics!
+1! When I was younger (a lot younger), I wanted to BE a Blue Angel. Not an uncommon wish for boys of a certain age who've been exposed to their amazing aeronautics, I'm sure. The Blues used to come to the local Navy base every year. There is one trip I will never forget. Before the show, I had sketched an F11F on a drawing pad and colored in the blue and gold with pastels. I took the drawing with me to the air show for the Blues to autograph aftewards. I was a geeky kid, and shy. (Now I'm a geeky adult, and still shy.) The Blues were my heroes. As I proceeded down the line from one pilot to the next, one of them paused before he signed my drawing. "Did you freehand this, son?" he asked. "Yes, sir," I answered proudly. "Gosh, I wish I could do that!" he exclaimed. "That's terrific!" My feet did not hit the ground for the rest of the day. I don't know for sure, but I like to think that the pilot who went out of his way to make an awkward kid feel good about himself was Lt. Cdr. Dick Oliver, who was killed in a crash at the Canadian Air Show on September 2, 1966. He was one of the Blues who signed my drawing that day.
