I do! I love them. Click the Bob's Den in my signature to see all my stuff. All of those are alcohol based.
Use alcohol based here too. I'm on the pro-alcohol side. When scraping some skin off my face so I want something that will help prevent infections.
Thanks! I try harder NOT to add to it than I do TO add to it and it still has grown to what it is now. What ever happened to one razor, cream/soap, and a pack of blades, huh? Oh well, color me guilty Saving more never costed me so much :happy102 Also, I know how this may be a "splitting hairs" kind of detail, but some people swear by applying AS ATG. I use both ways, I just get to rubbing it all over my face, so all the directions gets hit.
Sure I use it everyday: Sunday-SkinBracer Monday-Addidas Dynamic Pulse Tuesday-Brut Wednesday-Ice Blue Aqua Velva Thursday-Old Spice Classic Friday-Gillette Cool Wave Saturday-Pinaud Clubman If you haven't tried the cool wave I highly recommend dropping 5.00$ and getting a bottle. Great stuff.
I like alcohol based AS, but sometimes I have to use witch hazel or an ASB to keep from drying out my face too much. I have sensitive skin, so I have to be careful.
I never have, but may pick some up at the dollar store to give it a try. Doesn't it make you smell like grandpa?
If your worried about smelling like gramps then you should stay away from av,skin bracer, old spice, brut. Try gillette Cool wave or addidas Dynamic pulse, or go down the fragrence aisle at walmart, there are lots of after shaves that match up with colognes. But personally I think you'd be missing out, there's a reason these products have been around so long. They work!! Fogot to put a plug in for clubman, every wet shaver should at least try it.
For you Menthol addicts out there may I suggest Osage Rub and Alcolado Glacial-both have a ton of alcohol and a ton of Menthol-guaranteed to wake you up in the morning-before your caffeine levels are therapeutic.
Alcohol Based Aftershaves... I read somewhere that its not good to use alcohol based aftershaves, because you will have wrinkles on your face by the time your 50. But then I like the thought of having alcohol in your aftershave as it will help to disinfect your face after receiving any cuts, nicks, weepers, also having a styptic effect and sealing them shut if they're not too big. I found Bay Rumm to be very good at that. Right now I'm using supermarket/drugstore Witch Hazel in it with the 14% alcohol, so maybe I got the best of both worlds plus the additional styptic effect of the alcohol on top of the stringent effect of the Witch Hazel. Very rarely do I need an actual styptic pencil to seal any wounds. Not to get off topic, but is it a big no-no around here to use toilet paper for cuts? I've been known to do that.:signs002
Thanks for the tip. I really don't mind smelling like grandpa actually with the exception of Old Spice, I have never like that scent, but I do love the smell of Brut and Jade East. I think I'll be trying Clubman for that childhood remembrance of going to the barber shop with my dear old Grandpa.
I like the alcohol burn - teaches my face that if I feel irritation after a shave, I'll burn the crap out of it with alcohol until it stops
I love the alcohol a/s. Floid is great. Domonica or Royall Bay Rum, Tabac, Speick, Alt Innsbruck, Clubman, AV...so many to choose from. In the summer, drying isn't a problem for me. In the winter, when it's raw out, I might follow the a/s - after a few minutes - with GFT skin food or even a light balm. Jordan
I used splashes everyday. I rotate between various flavors of Boosters, Musgo Real, Proraso , and Speick. Proraso is my favorite. it doesn't have the classic drug store variety scent and the menthol is just enough to let you know it's there.
