Does anyone know if alcohol has any effects on the skin other then having a tendency to possibly dry it outand of course, its antisceptic effects? Does it help tone or improve the skin?

    alcohol is pretty simple.

I think it is just the antisceptic and astringent qualities.

However, an AS has more than just alcohol in it. It is those ingredients that give you a benefit.

Basically, you wouldn't get the same benefit from using rubbing alcohol on your face as using an AS splash

Well, there are no real antiseptic effects from the alcohol even though they are often attributed to alcoholic splashes. The alcohol is "just" there to evaporate and to transfer the "good" ingredients into the skin - that's all.
