G'day all. I see I am the newest member of the shave den and am impressed by the posts I have read. I am a newbie both to the shave den and very soon to the world of straight razors. The tips you have all given to new users is very generous and informative so I wont ask you to repeat them. Right now I'm obsessing over whether to buy an entry level TI or Dovo Bismark - but am waivering toward the TI after seeing those great photos of the "Le Dandy" but would appreciate any comments. Hope to have many an hour in TSD.

Welcome Welcome to the Den...man. As to straight razors...buy an entry level SR. My recommendation that it should be an 5/8 blade, I bought a 6/8 DOVO Special and learned to shaved with it. Thereafter, I purchased a Boker 5/8 which is a narrower blade, and I have been getting marvellous shaves with it. Good luck.
