Well thanks for the warm welcome everybody. I now have everything I need to get started. My wife got me a nice EJ beechwood soap bowl with a puck of sandalwood soap and a tube of sandalwood creme for my birthday. I'm not sure if the EJ soap is the best to start out with though. I am having a hard time getting a good lather out of it. I don't want to give up on it though, I love the scent of it. Even with my less then perfect lathers my first couple shaves were a success. No BBS, but very little irritation, and only 1 knick (or nick).

Thanks. I have also been trying to make a super lather using the EJ cream as well (although as a newb I should probably hold off on that till I get the basics down)
