Hey all! Just curious if anyone thinks this strip is a good deal for $35?? All the razors nearby were ~$2 and any of them in cases were ~$25. The leather on the strip was smooth and soft. Looks like a good deal to me. I would offer $20 for the strop, and settle for whatever you are comfortable with. if the straights are $2 w/o boxes/cases, then snatch them all up, as long as the blades are in good condition.
Yeah, offer $20 for the strop to see if they'll come down. It looks they have some nice razors there. I recommended you make an offer on a few of the straights and safety razors.
If the strop is soft and supple you can use it. If it's hard you might be able to recondition it with saddle soap and foot oil. But it you can't I would be hesitant to buy it. Any nicks or cuts in the strop? It seems to be skuffed so it may be really dry. An interesting collection. The antique stores and n Houston have "old lady junk" and not much else.
