As you undoubtedly know, the history of the Anabaptists started in Europe. In the 18th century, they had an important community in the Alsace region. Here they planted an oak tree when they were granted the right to be exempt from military service. The farm where the original request was made, still exists as well. Later, the leader of the community traveled to Paris to have the exemption made official. Related to this; the grave of Menno Simons can be visited even today.
Beautiful pictures. I am familiar with the Anabaptists (I am Baptist). They have an interesting history and suffered quite a lot in the past, if I recall correctly. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
