Any info on this odd Pinaud?

I ran across this 1.5 oz. sample of Clubman Club Royale at an Odds and Ends store. I've tried it once, and don't hold me to this, but I would describe it as a citrus/leather combo. Very pleasant.

Have never heard of this before. What does anyone know about it? Does the corporate info indicate anything about date of production?

 

I don't have a lot of detail but if memory serves ClubmanRob has talked about this before. It is their old formulation of lime or citrus aftershave and is no longer produced. Todays incarnation would be the Citrus Musk which is actually an EDT and not an aftershave. That's a nice find...especially if it's not skunked. Save it for special occasions.

 

Citrus Musk works great as an aftershave though. Pinaud seems to label a lot of their stuff "cologne" even if it is more of an AS (at least in strength.)

 

I was worried.....I thought this would be a VEG thread.....phew....hands can stop shaking now...LOL!

 

Guess it is time for me to come out of the Vegital closet.

I remember my first experience just as vividly as my first kiss and my first car accident. I just had to try the Veg after reading SO many yeas and nays about it. With nervous fingers I opened the bottle and took a wiff. A surprisingly uneventful act. Yep, the bottle scent reminds me of polystyrene but not so strong as to reach out and choke you. Since I was home for the evening I jumped right in and put a splash worth on. Still smelled like polystyrene. After a few moments this wonderful un-sweet lilac scent just settles right in. I really like this stuff and the wife has given the thumbs up on this one too. On days I feel like a sweet scent I will wear Citrus Musk and on days I don’t feel like sweet I will wear the Veg. It is a keeper. :happy088

 

First post here. I used to have a bottle of Club Royalle that I bought at a barber shop in Ravenna, Ohio. It has a very unique smell to it. I really liked it. Too bad the cap busted and had to throw it out. I would have kept it if I new it would be discontinued. :sick007

I t smells like baby powder in a flower garden. Floral and clean/powdery

 

it appears Big Mike is another Cat P person when it comes to Clubman. Was he talkinabout Clubman Royale or the Veg?

 

His photo showed a still sealed new bottle of The Veg. Find out when he reports back in.

 

Floral and powdery, hard to imagine it could smell like anything else. Well matched to Sunday church or a Hawaiian shirt. It's not going to supplant Old Spice as my daily aftershave, but $7 well spent.

 

Lilacs and Barber Talc. That's all I get out of it, though I think it's better after being decanted into glass for a while before use.
