Supposedly made from solid brass. https://blackshipgroomingco.com/pro...uble-edge-safety-razor?variant=11253451685924 Just ordered plain brass version from WCS. https://www.westcoastshaving.com/pr...azor-christmas-cannons?variant=31215766077505
I am not really a fan of the cannon themed handle, but for the price, if it is a solid brass piece (including the head) then I would say it is worth it (providing quality control and shave quality is not crap). Good luck and let us know how it shaves.
Will do. The only reason I ordered it is because it's made from solid brass, head included. I have a couple other brass handles if i find the "cannon" too long or too distasteful. It is supposed to be a mild razor, which is OK for me. We shall see.
First shave with Black Ship Grooming "The 32 Pounder" First shave with my new Black Ship Grooming "The 32 Pounder" plain brass DE razor was a success. Would I buy it again? No. not after the time it took too pollish out the rough edges on the base plate left by the casting process. Wet/dry #600 grit sandpaper did the trick. The resulting shave was smooth and efficient -- BBS in two passes, WTG and ATG. The handle is heavier than I’m used to, but the razor was well balanced and easy to maneuver.
