Hey everyone, I'm just wondering but how long in general should I expect a tube of Proraso shave cream to last me if I only use like 2cm of the product with each shave?

Perhaps I’m mistaken, but a 2cm ribbon of Proraso seems like it should make enough lather for multiple shaves. You’ll probably finish the tube pretty quickly.

Try half and see how that works. Experiment ‘til your heart’s content and keep us posted on your results :)

Try a stick of ARKO, it will last a long while, even if used every day. I face lather with it.

At least a month, longer most likely. Too many variables involved to give a better estimate.

Why not just buy a couple, use what you want for each shave, and not worry about it?

    Why does it matter?

And it depends if you use a natural brush or a synthetic. Natural brushes use more product than a synthetic per shave. At least that's my experience.

With a soap, I would agree. Natural brushes seem to have a coarser surface that's going to dig into the puck a bit more. With creams you control how much product is used.

First you want to make sure you have the right Proraso product so you need to buy one of each of their tube creams (they have at least 4 varieties) and rotate them daily.
Then just to be sure about Proraso you should check out all of the Taylor of Old Bond Street tube creams as well and while you’re trying to be thorough you should probably get all of the D R Harris tube creams too.
If you do it right you’ll find that a single tube of Proraso can last for years.

I think I am on the same tube of Proraso/Bigelow I started with in January. It's pretty much all I use. I just squeeze a bit out and dab it on my cheeks and neck then face lather. It's a pretty good value. I use a synthetic brush and use the same tube for my bi-weekly head shaves.

I use about 2 pea sized dots on my brush (synthetic Maggard). A tube will last me at least three months of dailies.

Sounds like a legitimate concern to me, especially if person is not a hobbyist. Traditional shaving is attractive to the budget-conscious shaver because it can save money in the long run over cartridge razors. Getting started on a tight budget requires some investment at the beginning (one razor, one soap, one brush, blades). Knowing when to expect to replace a tube of Proraso shows wise planning and preparation by @FurryFan93 .
