Just wondered if anyone had used any of the new stuff from these guys? Razor burn relief and Glycerin cleansing bar..see below. http://www.connaughtshaving.com/repairliquid.html http://www.gentlemans-shop.com/acatalog/Proraso_Glycerin_Cleansing_Bar.html#a159
I carry the new line too, and have tried it all. I gave away a Razor Burn Repair and After Shave Balm for last month's TSD Newbie give away. Maybe the fellow who won will give you his impression of the items he got?
Aw crap, that would be me. I was afraid something like this would happen. You're talking to a guy who's previous aftershave experience up until about a month ago was limited to Old Spice and Stetson. I never used a A/S balm until last week and that was Nivea's cooling balm and I didn't like it. Now to top it all off, I'm suffering from a cold and bronchitis and I literally can't smell these two items. My wife and kids tell they smell great. As a matter of fact, my oldest son has started using the balm because he likes the smell so much, so for a 16 year old to wear it to school, that must mean something. As far as the feeling, they are both very soothing. The last couple of times I shaved I did use both items to calm down the burning and irritation from using an old Gillette OC for the first time. For that they worked well. That being said, with my very limited prior use of balms, I do believe that these are 2 items I will be purchasing again, I just hope that I like smell.
That was very generous of you offering two such products. Its really is a measure of the place that people do that round here. I figure its got to be a good product if its proraso. I think i will try pick one of each up. Currently, i only wash with a face scrub pre shave, but can only use that once a week. If the glycerin bar works well it would be good. Also, the razor burn relief should be good, would be interesting to see the ingredients as to what seperates it from the normal ASB. The one i want to have so so badly is the Shave Den Milk, but i think shipping is too much to me, so this could be a good alternative.
Well, I don't know if this is considered a new Proraso line, but I have and enjoy the Proraso Aloe & Green Tea shaving soap, which is maarketed for Canada. It smells wonderful, gives rich, creamy, stable lather, is quite cooling, and has soothing skincare. Rasage Poulin carries it.
The shave gel works but isn't as fun as soaps and creams. Good if you have to travel and don't want to bring a brush. The new line is called sul filo del rasoio by Proraso and is made up of Glycerin (Pre Shave) Cleansing Bar Shaving Gel Razor Burn Repair (aftershave balm with alcohol) Protective After Shave Cream I don't know if anyone else in North America aside from me is selling it yet.
It does seem pretty scarce at the minute. Top marks for stocking it all. Glad you said the razor burn relief has alcohol in it....my skin would have a mare!
One guy--he is so expensive, and he try all the time for me to buy that stuff, and he want that I don't the White Proraso soap that I love.
Raising this thread from the dead... I see ItalianBarber.com has as of today the Sul Filo Del Rasoio (loosely translated means Cutting Edge) line in stock. It's owned/made by Proraso. There's a pre-shave soap, a Razor Burn Repair Balm, an aftershave cream, a shave gel and an anti-wrinkle cream. Has anyone tried the razor burn repair balm or the aftershave cream? Feedback? Thoughts?
Ah i got the update email and saw those. But didn't even look. Hope someone here (who might have gotten them in TSD give away :happy102) might let us know more about it? I just find them a tad expensive for what your getting. Unless they are amazing. But that is just me from looking at it, as well as the prices.
:think002 Wonder who you're talking about.... I used both the burn repair and aftershave cream several times after receiving them, and contrary to my earlier statement, was wholly underwhelmed by both products. I did notice earlier this week that the burn repair has popped up in my daughters bathroom, so maybe she has taken to using them.
Hmmm well that is no good. I guess at least someone in the house is going to use it up. I saw the packages and they looked nice, good description and all that but you never know until you try. Or hear from someone how it performed for them. Thats when you at least can get a guess of how well it will perform. I have yet to use any poraso... Always pick up the green tub smell it and put it back.
If by the "New Range" that means Proraso Green Tea Shave Soap then count me in. I have it in my rotation. It builds a lather easy and I find it to have sufficent moisturizing qualities that keeps my skin from drying out. A good choice if you have dry skin.
Since these are new products, any chance they have stopped putting 4 different paraben compounds in all of their products as preservatives and gone with something more natural?
This thread was started in 2009 so it's not a new line of products anymore. That being said, I couldn't answer your question as I've not seen an ingredients list for this line.
