So some here may remember my problem getting a good lather out of Arko soap, I've always got a good razor burn from it from dry lather. Tonight I decided to take another stab and whip up a practice lather. I let my brush soak for five minutes. I left the water in it, only squeezing slightly. I took my Ramekin bowl with mashed Arko and loaded the brush for 30 seconds plus. I then went to my mixing bowl and stirred like I stir my CO Bigelow, vigorously. I added water as needed. Wow, the lather exploded like I've never seen, enough for five passes! I spread it on my face to test the glide and wetness factor. It stayed wet and didn't dry like I'm used to! It looked just like my CO Bigelow lather when it's at that sweet spot. Wow! So, I wasn't using enough water before, and I'm more confident on knowing when the lather hits that sweet spot. So I stirred and added water until the lather had a wet sheen to it. I can't wait to try it in the morning!
Glad you're finding a groove with it Leo. I like to just lather Arko right on the puck. I give my brush a couple light shakes and then just start swirling until I've got a brush full of lather that's the consistency I want. If the lather doesn't form that way it's because there's not enough water. If you get too much water, it'll just take longer to make the lather a nice creamy (not runny) consistency.
There's so much to enjoy about Arko - for me, nothing beats the stick in terms of lather and the Ice Mint cream has absolutely superb lather with a lovely scent and a strong menthol sensation.
