It was exactly 39 years ago today that branded my heart with searing pain and sadness. I will never forget this day... ever. On August 12th, three of my friends were killed in action in Viet Nam. I was one of the guys who had to identify their bodies at graves registration in Bien Hoa so they could be sent home for burial. Images of grisly wounds, inch-thick coagulated blood in their body bags and the smell of death upon them that was burned into my nostrils, will forever be a part of me. We served with pride for our country... right or wrong, as members of: F Co 51st Infantry AIRBORNE LONG RANGE PATROL Rest easy, my friends... rest easy. You will always be part of my soul. I'm very sorry for your loss, Bill. What a horrible thing to have to go through. I don't always agree with the politicians that put our young men and women into wars, but I will always be greatful to any person of any service for the job they have done and for the freedom they have provided us. Thank you and God Bless You! Susie
Sorry for your loss. Thank you for your service. I served in the Army as a Intel scout somewhat similar duty as a LERP 1990-1998. Always out front Raf
My condolences, and heartfelt gratitude to you, Bill, your friends, and all those who ensure our freedom with their lives.
Sorry for your loss Bill. I do appreciate what you and your friends did/do for our country. God Bless
I truly couldn't imagine what you felt on that day Bill. Many thanks to everyone who serves their country.
