    Good Morning.

I decided to shave this morning instead of waiting to do so later in the day.
The lather was creamy and slick which is the way I like it. Two passes is all I needed without pickups, but did get a weep on the corner of my mouth and on the flat part of my chin. I attribute it to a slightly deeper angle. Hairshapers are very sharp and being a tad off the angle will result in some form of bloodshed. Thankfully, I have a soft touch that I don't nick or cut myself to require more medical attention other than a styptic pen. Lol! Hey, stuff happens.
Did get alum feedback. Finished my shave with the witch hazel and followed with the matching aftershave. Enjoy your day.

You would think that the company would add menthol to their splash. However, it doesn't matter to me. I use it when I don't want the spillage to last when I know that I will be around people with frag allergies.

    Good Sunday morning all!
    I thought I'd post today's shave.
Being not only a believer but, also a practioner of "riding the cap" I thought it only proper to post.

    20220807_110050.jpg

Proraso red and my Razorock Hawk V1 NB.
    Yes No Bar.
I eliminated the bar to see if it was really necessary, no its not, for me anyway.
If you ride the cap properly, the safety bar isn't needed. I shave both head and face every day, bar none.
Ok... I had to say it.

    20220807_110105.jpg

I left the blade in for those who need to see it for themselves.
A wonderful shave both head and face.
Smooth, no nicks, cuts, burns or other nasty shave stuff.
Haven't used this for a while and should take it for a spin more often.

These blades will give me 2 whole shaves before I need to changing out for a new one.

    I'm trying for shave nirvana.
    Some day mabe.

My shoulder won't contort anymore for straight and shavette use.
My left hand thumb is giving me issues from an old injury.
But I'm still able to shave with these Frankenstein monster razors.
Getting a great shave all the while.

Reading all these post really helped in the development of my technique.
    Thanks to all.

    Enjoy

    Tatara Nodachi razor.
    Astra SP (fresh).
    Razorock 400 Plissoft synthetic brush.
    Eufros shave soap.
    Timeless shave bowl.

Awesome shave this morning. The Nodachi has to be the black sheep in the den. I love this razor but man does it demand respect and attention. Three nice passes with no blood loss.:bounce015:

    Take care everyone!

I took a day off and let the beard grow for 2 days. I decided to use the Hawk as my adjustable. I have 2 base plates for the Hawk. Mild standard & the aggressive open comb. Today was the open comb and I think I have this razor tamed! Rode the cap with zero pressure and got the nicest shave so far with the Hawk v3 open comb!

Hawk v3 with open comb base plate
    Captain Titan Mild blade (1st)
    Proraso Blue pre-shave cream
Chiseled Face "Ghost Town Barber" soap
Thayers toner & Geo F Trumper Skin Food (tiny dab - a little goes a LONG way)
Clubman Pinaud reserve "Whisky Woods" AS

Cold water face wash and cold water for the lather. The open comb was very nice today and gave me a super close shave. I may have to wait another 2 days to shave again! 3-pass shave with no cleanup. BBS shave! I could have even stopped at 1 pass! VERY pleasant shave. Alum bar gave zero feedback. This is my first shave with the open comb where I got no cuts, nicks, or weepers! No irritation at all! I have this one dialed in and now need to try it with a Feather Professional blade. (soon) I will use up this mild blade first.

I hope all have just as pleasant a shave today!
