1. I've been vacationing with the family at Disney/Epcot the last week. The kids and wife are having a blast, and so am I.

Anyhoo, at Epcot we were visiting the Norway section of 'The World' when we got off the boat ride there. As with many things there you are forced to exit through a gift shop ( clever Disney marketing ). As soon as we got into the shop a wonderful scent was evident. Surrounded by troll figurines, foam battle axes, and horned Viking helmets I was puzzled. It was a musky evergreen scent, and it was wonderful.

Off to the side of the shop was a smaller room minus the folksy Viking decor. It was full of small glass bottles of a perfume called Laila. However, in one small nook was a display of their men's cologne, Geir. Wow! I sprayed a sample on myself ... it was AWESOME. I sprayed a spritz on my son. My wife loved it. My daughter loved it. We kept sniffing the application site for hours later.

We liked it so much we went back 2 days later and bought a bottle.
  2. Your positive review of Geir match others who also sampled it at Epcot. Its described as spicy, oriental , musky. Is it like Speick or something else we are all familiar with ?
  3. I haven't smelled Speick so I am hesitant to answer. I'm hoping some of our European members may be familiar with Geir.

I'm picking up a lavender/vanilla/evergreen combo. The lavender is subtle.
  4. Interesting find! I will be going there in the middle of October for 2 weeks. Im so psyched! My family goes almost every year, yes i know...Were nuts for Disney World! lol!

I will def have to check this! after I buy my battle axe ofcourse...:happy102
  5. Get your picture taken with the troll in the store :)
  6. Looks like you can get it on Amazon. The tag line is "The Power of Norway". Awesome.
  7. Will do! Ill have to post it here when I do! :happy102
  8. I take the family to Disney World at the end of the university's academic year, usually the first week of May. Last year, we were having lunch in the Canada pavilion, and Geir Ness, the designer of Geir, was sitting by himself at the table next to us. We had no idea who he was, so my wife made some small talk with him. After a few minutes of chatting, he told us that he was a fragrance designer and that he would be in the Norway pavilion selling/signing bottles of his fragrance after lunch, and, of course my wife had to stop in Norway to buy a bottle. I'm the only professor on campus with an autographed photo of Geir Ness in his office. And Geir gave my six year old son a bunch of samples that he insists on wearing to school and church.

  9. That is awesome. We bought his women's fragrance for my wife, and I read it was named after his mother. I have got to think anyone who loves his mom that much has to be a great guy.
