Got this from a book I have called Smoke & Spice by Cheryl and Bill Jamison Just made these ribs again last night and geez they are tasty. This recipe is for 2 slabs of ribs. Soak: 1 1/2 cups apple juice 3/4 cup cider vinegar 1/2 medium onion, minced 1 1/2 tablespoon Worchestershire 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon dried thyme Use this as a marinade, soak overnight prior to cooking Rub: 1/4 cup packed brown sugar 4 teaspoons onion powder 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground mustard 1 teaspoon coarse sea salt or kosher salt 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme Mop: (optional) 1 1/2 cups apple juice 1/2 cup cider vinegar 4 teaspoons Worcestershire Any leftover rub Cook 'em low and slow, between 200-225 degrees for approximately 4 hours. I smoke mine using cherry and mesquite wood which makes them extra tasty. Finish with your favorite BBQ sauce if you like 'em 'wet' Enjoy!
Well, the authors of the book did all the work...I just copied it onto the forum:ashamed001 But yes, this is a wonderful recipe that's super easy. Anyone that's into smoking and BBQing should buy this book. Cost something like $15 at my local bookstore and it has recipes for beef, chicken, pork, turkey, and fish, and also has recipes for how to make your own rubs, sauces, and deserts. It's an all around great, no-nonsense cookbook that will bring you and yours many delicious dishes! (I am in no way affiliated with this book or authors, just passing along good knowledge)
