1. I had pretty lousy results with the lather for this soap, using both a floppy badger and a boar with substantial backbone. Some folks had the same results, while others said the soap worked well. The water where I live is fairly soft, so that is unlikely to be a factor. That leaves the brush.

    What characteristics does your New Forest brush have (i.e. backbone vs. floppy, knot size, etc.)? Fido's brushes have get a lot of love on the forums, so he must have a very good product. As you noted, perhaps it is just necessary to mess with the shaving setup a bit more to get good results with this soap. Perhaps I need a brush upgrade? ;)
  2. That's amazing. I just tried this soap, and for me it doesn't have any scent at all. Face lathering with my boar hair brush, I got a rather thin lather. I've gone back to Proraso green tub and have considered throwing the Badger Soap out. I will try it again.
