One of my favorite movies, "Treasure of Sierra Madre" is on tonight. This movie has, perhaps, one of the most repeated lines of all time.
Bogie films are the best. I know everyone will say Casablanca (which is excellent) but the Maltese Falcon and To Have an Have Not are my favorites. Also, We're No Angeles and The Big Sleep.
When I graduated from the Armed Forces Military Law Enforcement Academy at in San Antonio, TX, it's traditional to take a class photo with all graduates in dress uniform with side arms and badges. The side arms made it to the photo shoot, but the badges did not as the photographer had forgotten to bring them. Also traditional is for the class to determine a slogan to put on a board with class number, date, location, etc. Our slogan was, obviously, "We Don't Need No Stinkin' Badges".
Bogie is my favorite film noir actor. "To Have and Have Not" is one of my favorite movies of his. But not 'cause of him. Lauren Bacall was my first movie crush. I saw the movie when I was 14 and was very disappointed to find out it was shot in the '40's and she was now much older. Bummer.
During Range Week during the Police Academy our class could wear civies and bring not only our duty sidearms and shotguns, but any other weapons we'd care to. We RV'd at one of the guy's houses. Then we took a group picture. It looked like Pancho Villa's band landed in Jersey!
