I have been a loyal Barbasol user for years, long before I started DE shaving. I originally started using their Original formula and soon switched to the Soothing Aloe formula and have been using it since. I saw this Extra Moisturizing formula at the store and decided to try it. It's a very good canned shaving cream. Just like all Barbasol creams, it is very very thick when the can is full. I find that is actually spreads better if you use your hands instead of a brush when the can is brand new. As the can empties as you use it, the cream becomes less thick and much better for using a brush.

For my shave today I used my Merkur Classic 33C loaded with a Rapira SS blade (2nd shave with this blade). I received a 2 pass DFS with no nicks or irritation to speak of. I would not put it in the same class as Barbasol Soothing Aloe, but it's still a very good canned cream !!!

Very nice. Barbasol can consistently give great shaves. I even at times choose it over some soaps

Is this the yellow can that contains lanolin? If so, I picked one up a few weeks ago and have tried it a few times. Believe it or not, I'd never used Barbasol of any type before that. I tried Foamy when I was about 15 and hated it. Then went to gels and never tried another foam again. But I should have probably tried the Barbasol. It's not bad. Better than some traditional soaps and creams I've tried. Not better than my favorite traditional soaps and creams but for a couple bucks, it works pretty well.

I'll have to have a look at the yellow can.

I only use gels...your razor slides better on gels over creams

as I implied an earlier post, I'd like to see an unscented gel.
